We believe that camping ministries make a huge impact in the lives of youth. Camps allow students to get away from the “real world” and experience God’s creation and love in a way they might not have ever experienced before. You can register for camps at okcamps.org. Below are a list of the camps that our youth will attend as a group.
6th Grade Camp:
This camp is an opportunity for campers to experience living in community with others, with God, and in creation so that they begin to see and feel God’s love every day within themselves, their friends, families, and their local churches.
Camp Spark (6th grade- graduates):
Camp Spark is offered to both Jr. High and Sr. High students. Students will be divided into different small groups that are designed to promote discussion and spiritual growth for students in any part of their faith journey. Camp Spark also is designed to teach various “life skills” that students can use as they begin to take steps towards greater independence.
Sr. High Lead (9th grade- graduates):
June 29-July 2
Lead High School is a week-long leadership camp featuring active learning to develop leadership skills. The goal is to give the campers resources and knowledge on what mission means to the UMC, locally, nationally, and globally.
Lead differs from other camps where small groups play a crucial role. The emphasis is not on the growth of the small group but rather on giving campers information, ideas, and the ability to hone their leadership skills. This camp is for youth who show leadership in their church and have a desire to learn more about what it means to be United Methodist.
