Student Ministry

New Hope Student Ministry Mission Statement:

New Hope's Student Ministry is committed to acceptance, discipleship, and bringing others and ourselves closer to God as the hands, feet and heart of Christ.

Student Ministry Meeting Times

Sunday School:

9:30 - 10:45 am

We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the Youth Room for fellowship and conversation.  At 9:45 we split between Jr. High and Sr. High for a lesson.  Sunday School is a great opportunity for students to learn to think deeper about their faith through discussions, activities, and questions among students their own age.

Sunday Night Youth:

5:00 - 7:00 pm

Sunday nights are designed to be a more relaxed atmosphere that promotes building relationships through games, dinner, and worship led by our praise team. At 5, we meet in the gymnasium for games, and move to the youth room at 5:45 for dinner and worship.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:

6:30 - 8:00 pm

Wednesday Night Bible Study is a deeper concentrated study on our Christian faith.  These studies allow students to begin learning what it means to develop a faith that they can own in their daily lives.  Our current study is, “24 Hours that Changed the World” in which we are discussing the true extent of all that Jesus went through in his final hours on Earth, and the ramifications of that which affects us in our lives today.

Summer Camps!

We believe that camping ministries make a huge impact in the lives of youth.  Camps allow students to get away from the “real world” and experience God’s creation and love in a way they might not have ever experienced before. You can register for camps at  Below are a list of the camps that our youth will attend as a group.

6th Grade Camp:

Canyon Camp

June 10-14

This camp is an opportunity for campers to experience living in community with others, with God, and in creation so that they begin to see and feel God’s love every day within themselves, their friends, families, and their local churches.

Camp Spark (6th grade- graduates):

Canyon Camp

June 24-28

Camp Spark is offered to both Jr. High and Sr. High students.  Students will be divided into different small groups that are designed to promote discussion and spiritual growth for students in any part of their faith journey.  Camp Spark also is designed to teach various “life skills” that students can use as they begin to take steps towards greater independence.

Sr. High Lead (9th grade- graduates):

Crosspoint Camp

June 29-July 2

Lead High School is a week-long leadership camp featuring active learning to develop leadership skills. The goal is to give the campers resources and knowledge on what mission means to the UMC, locally, nationally, and globally.

Lead differs from other camps where small groups play a crucial role. The emphasis is not on the growth of the small group but rather on giving campers information, ideas, and the ability to hone their leadership skills. This camp is for youth who show leadership in their church and have a desire to learn more about what it means to be United Methodist.
